About Hoff Enterprises
Our History
HOFF was built on craftsmanship, hard work, and a commitment to doing things the right way
Our roots were planted in 1970, when Walt Freidhoff began building homes in the Johnstown area. For the next decade, HOFF Homes focused on single-family construction, establishing a reputation for quality and integrity. With the involvement of the second generation, the company evolved into HOFF Builders & Supply, expanding into the manufacturing and supply of kitchens and countertops and growing our footprint into Altoona and Pittsburgh.
In 1991, the company was incorporated as HOFF Enterprises, Inc., and our focus expanded to include commercial casework. From that point forward, HOFF worked deliberately to build a reputation as one of the most dependable and respected casework manufacturers in the tri-state region.
Under second-generation leadership, Kurt Freidhoff has grown HOFF into a modern, innovative manufacturing operation, investing in advanced technology while preserving the values that built the company. Our automated equipment and in-house capabilities allow us to efficiently deliver projects of any size, without compromising craftsmanship.
In 2008, HOFF became a member of what is now the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, part of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America—further strengthening our commitment to skilled workmanship and professional standards.
Today, our work spans medical facilities, financial institutions, professional offices, educational campuses, and athletic facilities. HOFF casework can be found throughout Pennsylvania, up and down the East Coast, and as far west as Minnesota and Arizona—with projects delivered internationally to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
With a dedicated installation team and a nationwide reach, HOFF continues to build lasting partnerships by delivering dependable performance and high-quality work on every project.
Built on legacy. Driven by performance. Trusted for generations.
Our Facilities
HOFF operates from a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Johnstown, Pennsylvania — just 75 miles east of Pittsburgh. Purpose-built for commercial production, our shop is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art machinery and technology that allow us to produce up to 100 cabinets per day, with built-in capacity to expand to 200 cabinets per day as project demands grow.
This controlled, in-house environment gives HOFF direct oversight of quality, schedule, and consistency. From engineering through fabrication, every step of the process is managed under one roof—ensuring dependable lead times, repeatable results, and the level of precision commercial projects require.

Responsibility & Sustainability
HOFF approaches sustainability as part of responsible craftsmanship and long-term performance. From material selection to fabrication, we are committed to reducing environmental impact while delivering commercial-grade quality.
We prioritize responsibly sourced materials and efficient production methods that minimize waste and maximize material yield. Our products are fabricated using sustainably harvested wood and low-VOC finishes—supporting healthier interior environments while maintaining the durability and performance commercial projects demand.
Our commitment is reinforced through active participation and certification within the industry, including:
- Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI)
- Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)
- Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®)
- Pittsburgh Builders Exchange
HOFF also supports project requirements for LEED and other sustainability-driven programs, providing documentation and material options aligned with environmental goals.
By combining responsible sourcing, efficient manufacturing, and disciplined execution, HOFF delivers millwork that performs in the field while supporting the broader objectives of sustainable building.
Community Involvement
At HOFF, we believe strong communities are built the same way great projects are—through commitment, collaboration, and long-term investment. We take pride in supporting the people and organizations that are working to strengthen the communities where we live and work.
We place special emphasis on investing in young people. By supporting youth programs, education, and workforce development, we help build pathways for the next generation of skilled professionals and leaders.
Our goal is simple: give back in ways that create lasting impact and help ensure a strong future for our industry and our community.
