Shop Carpenter
The Shop Carpenter will be responsible for fabricating and assembling custom cabinetry and millwork according to detailed plans and specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong woodworking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate custom cabinetry and millwork based on architectural drawings, and project specifications.
- Operate woodworking machinery such as table saws, routers, planers, and sanders with precision and safety.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of cuts, joints, and assembly to meet company standards.
- Assemble cabinetry components, ensuring proper fit and finish of doors, drawers, and panels.
- Perform sanding, finishing, and edge banding to achieve a smooth, professional appearance.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to production or assembly processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Perform quality control checks on all completed products to ensure they meet client specifications and company standards.
- Assist with the installation of cabinetry on-site when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a shop carpenter, cabinetmaker, or similar role in custom cabinetry or millwork.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and woodworking best practices.
- Experience with CNC machinery and software (such as Microvellum) is a plus but not required.
